  1. A Student's Guide to the Study of History
This guide is a useful aid to high school and college students who are either taking history classes or who intend to major in history as undergraduates. In this guide you will learn how among other things, to take notes, and how to use resources. Through these lectures, notice that the Socratic method is used to present history.

  4. Lectures on History
The three sections of history lectures found on this site are the main attraction of The History Guide. Dr. Kreis created these lectures for the courses he teaches. These lectures are for undergraduate courses in European History.
    • Ancient and Medieval European History
This is a series of 30 lectures covering the period from the Ancient Near East (4000 BC) to the Black Death (AD 1350) and will be completed by the end of the year.
    • Modern European Intellectual History
This series covers the period most appropriate for this topic. You will find twenty-six lectures from Abelard (12th century) to Nietzsche (19th century).
    • 20th Century Europe
